First Fall Weekend.

Have I mentioned I love this season? A precursor to my most favourite time of year! I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend…just seasonal simplicity.

Task #1- Read the two New Yorker magazines I have waiting for me. I hate being behind!

Task #2- Pull out the Fall and Winter Clothing Box and the FALL DECORATIONS! Yay!

Task #3- I have a bit of a baking itch, I think I will scratch tonight. Done! Check it out here.

Task #4- Soup is good food. I am thinking New England Clam Chowder for Sunday’s BILLS game.

OH.MY.GOD. This is the best Clam Chowder I have ever had. My house smells amazing.

Task #5- Entertain Mark’s friend Randy and his wife who are coming in town. And maybe his friend Paul too, but I think Mark and Paul are headed to a movie this evening sans Jenny.

An unexpected add Task #5.5- GET CREPES FROM AMBROSIA. Yum! All a part of entertaining Mark’s friends you see.

Task #6- Read. I am in the middle of a few books right now. The World is Flat, The Bostonians, The Awakening, Life in the Time of Cholera.

Update- Damn! I got two new books in the mail! John sent me a book he highly recommended, My Other Loneliness: Letters of Thomas Wolfe and Aline Bernstein (this man knows my tastes, he introduced me to my favourite Jeanette Winterson) and I got one from PaperbackSwap.com- How to be Alone by Jonathan Franzen. Hmmm. Interesting theme I seem to be following here!

Task #7- DRINK BEER at OKTOBERFEST (which happens to be our next blogger meetup!) Hurrah! Check out the cool signs the Punaro’s created for the event! Anyone else dressing up?

Task #8- Check out book sales. Just Buffalo and the Albright Knox

Task #9- Take a walk…come back to warm spiced apple cider.

Task #10- Cuddle with Mark. An ongoing weekend adventure. As always :)

Ah, yes a good weekend indeed!

  1. Autumn? What’s that?? Today’s high is 77!! I don’t like it being that warm this late into September!!! I want a cool crisp 60 degrees. But from what I see, it doesn’t look like that will happen until at least November!!

  2. It must be the weather causing the craving for cookies. I baked oatmeal cookies with cranberries and walnuts 2 nights ago. The thing is, I hate baking . . . but they were good.

  3. MIKE THOSE SOUND LIKE HEAVEN!!!!

  4. Here is the recipe I used for the oatmeal cookies. I put sweet dried cranberries and walnuts in them.

Whatta think?
