Yeah :) As much as I go back and forth between the thought of planning something (how long has this been already?) The truth is, in order to bring together 300+ of your friends and family to have a weekend long celebration one needs a little planning…

I toy with the idea of sending a save the date Christmas Card, you know more bang for the buck.

Have you been to this winery? The built in shelter holds about 300.

Plus there’s the side and back yards(I see picnic blankets and badminton and croquet for the kids!) and plenty of room for a tent for dancing. I envision a celebration that starts around noon and lasts until midnight to tell you the truth.

Oh, good! Cuz I just finished making semi-last minute cross-country wedding travel plans. The frequent flier miles need time to recover! (One perk to all the crazy work travel.) And have it wherever it works. I can stay at Mama Burke's BnB.

And wow, Merritt is cheap!

Mike- Someday, only time will tell. We love the Terminal though! Our only hesitation is the weather, we prefer Fall (and if we get married while I’m working where I do now, it would have to be into October because we have our Gala in September) and it can be cold!!! Also the costs in renting the tables, chairs, portalettes might be too out of our budget, but you never know.

K10- Yeah the college lodge is a quaint idea because bunches of our friends would be able to stay on site. And we could have campfires etc. Of course a bunch of my friends can stay at the historic White Inn not too far away, the non outdoorsy types. Not sure about the food though, SUNY Fredonia has the contract.

Merritt Estate Winery in Forestville quoted me $50 to rent their pavilion all day and they have a covered shelter on site with picnic tables, and we can use their catering or bring in our own! And if we need more wine? Well… Of course that was 2 years ago, it might be up to $100 now, but holy CHEAP!!! Ample warning, fear not. It won’t be happening this year.

Diana- Oh I can imagine!!! Lucky for us, we aren’t really into having well any sort of ceremony at all. It would literally be, gather round for 5 minutes and watch us smooch. No processional, I actually prefer walking with Mark to the point of no return… no long vows, none of that stuff, it’s not really our style. So the seating wouldn’t be a problem. The rose garden itself is not my favorite place, but I do like the little pavilion, Mark sometime teaches Wing Chun there. THANKS for commenting!! I love new commenters!!! :)

A friend got married in the rose garden in September, it was beautiful, a little chilly, but we will never tell her about the bugs and how awful the seating was for guests. I wanted to see the wedding, not have a view of the greenerier.

You know I love the vineyard idea. The college lodge ... the church had a lot of little kids events and youth retreats there. I would never have thought of that one, but it is pretty out there.

Just give some of us ample warning, K? ; )
