Reminiscing about past Friendship & Political Gatherings

BUFFALO, NY (2008-07-22) 83 year old Gretchen Stringer was transported by wheelchair from the Beechwood nursing home in Amherst to downtown Buffalo to share her special stories with NPR’s Story Corps. Stringer waited for her long-time friend, state Senator Mary Lou Rath, to join her in the Story Corps trailer.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Gretchen while particpating in the Board Governance for Women program. And all I can say is, I adore her, she’s my hero and I can only hope to be half as active as she has been serving our community.
