November 12, 2009, Buffalo, N.Y. – A Very Special “Extreme Makeover Concert” will take place tonight, Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 7:00pm at Kleinhans Music Hall.
In support of the Powell family, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, David Homes, WNY AmeriCorps, Subway, Tim Horton’s and the International Preparatory School at Grover will be hosting a benefit concert with Buffalo’s very own Lance Diamond and Special Guests.
Inspired by the events of the Veteran’s Day celebration in front of the Powell home, an Iraqi Freedom Veteran donated $300 to establish a fund to assist the Powell family with future home maintenance expenses. With this generous donation, the anonymous Veteran began a series of events leading to a concert being organized to benefit the Powell family.
Cash and food donations will be collected as admissions, to help the Powell family with future home maintenance and utility costs. Canned food donations will go to support the Buffalo City Mission in honor of all the Powell family has done for the City of Good Neighbors.
“We can stand together to make a difference in our community.” said the Anonymous Veteran Donor, “The Powell family has inspired all of us to meet the challenges and assist with the needs of our fellow man.”
