Spring Cleaning

I’m an Old Fort Niagara Widow today. So I decided to make the most of a beautiful Saturday, open the windows and SPRING CLEAN!

SPRING CLEANING-ACCOMPLISHED
1. Crazy, beady drapy chandelier over the dining room table.
2. Wash curtains: Dining Room, Bathroom, Laundry Room, Office
3. Shower (including replacing shower liner!)
4. Dusting: living room, dining room
5. Spot Bot areas of living room rug (bad doggie!)
6. Other laundry: two personal loads, bathroom rugs

SPRING CLEANING-YET TO DO
1. Wash massive living room curtains, bedroom curtains, slipcovers
2. Bathroom sink, mirror, toilet, bidet
3. Living room window
4. Dusting: bedroom furniture
5. Floors: kitchen, bathroom

Will I get it all done? eh…maybe. I’ve been up since 7:45 (couldn’t fall back asleep…boo.) I also blogged a bit and wasted a whole lot of time in front of the teevee with a cup or three of coffee watching Royal Wedding coverage.

Now how on earth do I hang these curtains?

Signs of Spring!

DAFFY-DILS and TULIPS are popping out in front of my wee apartment Every time I drive past a beautiful patch of Daffodils while out in the country I yell “DAFFY-DILS!”  I think He Who Makes Me Smile thinks it’s cute…or maybe he just thinks I’m cute.

 

This is the front lawn of He Who Makes Me Smile, otherwise known as the future home of our very own patches of DAFFY-DILS!  (Around the trees…)

 

While walking around the property last week I found one, single, happy daffodil plant behind the barn in the field…only one. Random, just sitting there waiting to make me happy. Adorable. (Of course I picked it…)

 

The dandelions already started sprouting too…a welcome sign after such a long, grey, cold winter.

He Who Makes Me Smile bought this brand…because 1. I am not a fan of the foamy dish soap he had before and 2. I love penguins. Tee hee. Ah, the little things…(that keeps me doing dishes.)

Old School Drain Stoppers

Growing up we had these drain stoppers in our kitchen, I could never get the darn things to work back then…and apparently 30 years later nothing has changed.

I’d say every 1/6th try I get it right.

Anyone else have this problem?

Today I heard…the best line ever about parting ways with a management company.

Today I lost…my patience with our online email newsletter system. Grrr.

Today I decided…I’m not letting *it* get to me…

Today I need…to go find lunch, pronto.

Today I wish…for a SABRES VICTORY TOMORROW IN GAME 7!
