I’m realizing I don’t really like this living two different lives thing. Weekday City Jen vs. Weekend Country w/ He Who Makes Me Smile Jen.
Somehow I have to start making a Weekday City Jen life that makes me happy too, cause right now…I’m just meh.
MEH. With a side of fatty lip.
I blame him.
And him.
And the garden too.

I was just going to suggest that you just live in Ransomville and commute to work, but that was without me knowing where Ransomville actually is. I suppose that’s not that great an option, huh?
Tis the perfect option, BUT I need wheels first…
And wheels cost $$$.
I commuted from Gasport to Rochester about 80 miles, for a year. It wasn’t so bad, but it killed my car. The first year I put 36,000 miles on it and I was driving my truck too, when the snow was deep.
Ransomville to Buffalo has to be about 50 miles. I liked the fact you can unwind on the way home.
In the winter, I would be talking phone calls from employees who could not drive from Fairport (20 miles) after I had driven 80. Even took a call from my Boss once or twice.
The ride is actually about 30 miles so it is maybe 40-45 minutes to drive to my future home to my current office. If my future intended worked in the city we would certainly car pool, but with him 20 minutes away from me in the suburbs that isn’t possible right now.
So I need to get a pair of wheels that can be reliable, for all the reasons you mentioned above!
I’m wondering if I might be able to work at home a day or two a week also, I could do everything from home…however we are not that progressively minded unfortunately.
One of my co-workers asked to do the same thing a few months ago and she was told she couldn’t….she has since found another job…
The theme for the best boy and I these past few months has been work-life balance. That’s what it’s all about…of course the magic question is how.
Sigh…
