The Hottest Baby Names of 2011
My thoughts…
1. Pippa. Of course Pippa. (Isn’t Pippa an adorable name though? I love it!)
2. Luna? HOW FREAKING FUNNY? Chuck ***OMG THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I ACCIDENTLY WROTE HIS REAL NAME INSTEAD OF HE WHO MAKES ME SMILE*** said to me the night of the ridiculously freakishly large moon that if we make a baby girl that night we would call her Luna.
3. Ada, Adele, Adeline, Adelaide (GRRRRR. Really? I’ve always adored Ada and Adelaide…but since Gma Smith’s name was Alice, that one trumps the others. Although Gma Spinler is Adelaide!) Also Grrrr because I don’t want everyone else to love the names I love. Although everyone can love Mallory, because we both like that name but his mama did NOT so…not likely to happen.
4. I have nothing to say about the boy names, none of them appeal to me really. He Who Makes Me Smile and I have a plethora of boy names we love that are also family names. Our latest concoction is odd and pretentious, but still appealing…Porter Ellsworth. Nyah, don’t worry not gonna happen, but I do think it has a nice ring to it.
What do you think of the 2011 trending names?
Awe, I like Porter! And if you guys get married at Porter on the Lake….
AndI like Ada, but it’s also a family name. We’ve been talking about names lately too, and have definitely agreed that simple and classic are the way for us to go. Ben, Jack, Emily, Caroline…
It’s so fun thinking about names though!!
We like jack too…in chuck’s family it is a tradition to name first son after the two grandfathers his dad and my dad…his dad was John (but went by…JACK!) And my dad was Bernard…
So we are thinking Johnathan Bernard (JB, Jack for nickname)
I LOVE Caroline, but he isn’t fond….although I would be all quirky and spell it after my Auntie Carroll so it would be Carrollyn …Carrollyn Alice.
August is a family name for Chuck….(Gus, how cute!) Timothy August? (After my Lil Brother)
Basically driving home from somewhere one day we went through every name we could think of…and we have lots of boys names, and few girls names we like. Charlotte came up, but it won’t work with his last name…Charlotte Web…..er? And I like Mallory but his mom didn’t. We also like….Violet. I know, I know trendy ish but….so darling, Vie? Lette? awww.
I need to have babies…..stat.
Porter is a cute name for a boy
At least it’s unique. Luna is pretty, but I’m scared that she would get called “Loony”.
I don’t have kids, but if I did, I’d try to avoid picking a name that’s in the Top 20. I like my name, but “Julie” was popular when I was a kid, and it got pretty confusing when there was 4 or 5 other girls in my class with the same name.
..er, make that “I’d avoid picking a name that’s in the Top 20.”
Yeah, try being Jennifer Smith. Oy!
