My grandparents would be proud of me…all this thrifty regrowing goodness!
I started regrowing green onions a few months ago…
I can’t believe how much money I wasted over the years by throwing these roots out! I love green onions and use them on pretty much everything I can. The fact that I can buy a bunch, use them then stick them in a glass of water and they will regrow just amazes me. Mostly amazes me that I didn’t realize this trick for 38 years.
So now? Now I’m going to try celery.
I’ve been only buying organic celery for a while and it gets expensive! All I have to do is stick this bad boy in water, let it sprout and then plant? Um, heck yes!
My habit of saving and reusing is getting out of control…I had a bowl of cherries from our CSA this evening and…
Um…I decided to germinate the seeds and see if I can get any seedlings to plant in the fall.
Someone stop me! Or wait, don’t stop me…and come visit what will be the Weber Amazing Fruit/Veggie Garden in years to come.
